Medication Refill Information
Whenever possible we would like you to request prescription refills at the time of your routine office visits. If you are caught short, however, read the Rx bottle or check with you pharmacy to see if there are refills still available for the prescription.
If no refills are available, the easiest way to obtain refills is to use our online Medication Refill Request Form. Once logged in, at the bottom of that page you will find a list of your current medications. Merely check the box of the Rx you need, and click "SUBMIT." The request will be sent to your physician for review. If approved, the refill authorization will be sent to your preferred pharmacy. Make sure that you specify the pharmacy you wish to use from the dropdown list. If needed, you can add a new pharmacy choice by following the link on the MEDICATION REFILL page to the MY ACCOUNT page, where other pharmacy choices may be designated.
Please also be aware, Federal Law prohibits faxing or phoning narcotic pain relievers and certain other "restricted substances" to the pharmacy. If your medication falls into this category, you will need to come in and pick up a written prescription to hand carry to the pharmacy. In addition, for all potentially addicting medications, we have taken the safety precaution to mandate that your own doctor approve the refill. This may create a delay in approval if the request is received on your doctor's day off. Please be sure to request these medications well in advance, so you are not caught short.
Lastly, if you are requesting an antibiotic, it is our policy that you be seen for a proper medical evaluation to determine if an antibiotic is necessary. Antibiotics will not generally be refilled automatically. Inappropriate use of antibiotics leads to antibiotic resistance that will create serious difficulties when such treatment is truly required. We will make every effort to provide same day appointments for acute illnesses.
